Oeno Maris Winemaker Series: Chapuis & Chapuis | 27th of March | 7:30pm

from £45.00

As part of our continuing passion to promote the provenance of food & wine, we look forward to continuing our winemaker series at Oeno Maris with a focus on exploring the scrumptious Burgundian wines of Chapuis & Chapuis.

Winemaker, Romain Chapuis, who is making a statement in the region about how glorious low intervention wines can be, will be joining us for the evening, along side his nearly famous {wink} importer and wine influencer @geordiewineguide for a tasting and discussion of the portfolio at Oeno Maris.

We will welcome you in our intimate candlelit wine room & taste through five superior wines together as we discuss the story behind each of Romain’s cuvees - the unique method used to produce each wine, the latest vibe in Burgundy, and of course those cool labels. We are keeping the number of attendees tight so it will be a casual, laid back hang together - plenty of discussion and opportunities to ask questions of the winemaker.

For a little nourishment, the team at Oeno Maris has curated a pairing menu of nibbles designed to accentuate the flavour profiles of the wines, as well as showcase our highest quality seafood. You have the option below to simply come for the wine, or to add on the food pairing for the full experience.

We love having winemakers come share their stories and laughs & look forward to having you.

About Chapuis & Chapuis:

Romain and Jean-Guillaume Chapuis are based in Ladoix-Serrigny - a village sandwiched between the famous Côte de Nuits and the Côtes de Beaune regions of Burgundy. The brothers hail from a long established winemaking family and own vines in some of the top 1er and Grand Cru vineyards; they also have a network of trusted growers they work with for their micro-négoce wines.

Romain, visiting us on the evening, was a flying winemaker traveling the world. Upon his return, he worked a three-year stint making wine for one of the pioneers of natural wine in Burgundy, Philippe Pacalet. He is now showing the world just how wonderful low intervention wines can be … pure expression of the fruit and terroir using native yeasts, no/low use of sulphites, foregoing fining and filtration … with the confidence & expertise to romantically extract the liveliness and delicate expressive side of the world’s favourite grapes.  The result is a portfolio of superior quality wines we can’t stop drinking with glee.
