Oeno Maris Nights: Marianna Leivaditaki | 27th of July | 6:00pm
We are thrilled that our next intimate supper series will feature none other than the fisherman’s daughter, Marianna Leivaditaki. Having grown up on the island of Crete, moulded by her father’s daily catch from the sea and her family’s taverna, Marianna is certain to create a magical & personal menu inspired by the fine seafood of Oeno Maris.
If you are not familiar with Marianna’s cooking as of yet, you are in for a treat. Deeply rooted in her Cretan heritage, she focuses on seafood and bold Mediterranean flavours. Her culinary philosophy emphasizes seasonal, honest, ingredient-driven dishes evoking vivid childhood memories. Her debut cookbook, Aegean: Recipes from the Mountains to the Sea, is a love letter to her homeland. It explores recipes from Cretan mountains, plains, and coastline, accompanied by evocative stories and photography that transport readers to the Greek isles.
This is a rare opportunity to have the one and only Marianna prepare you a seven course bespoke menu, where she will cook and serve her dishes right before you from our fishmonger. Menu is in the photos. An evening not to be missed.
Note, this is a seated event inside our fishmonger & wine room. The set menu is executed for all at the same time, so please do arrive for 6:00pm sharp. Your ticket includes the full food menu. Beverages will be available for purchase on the evening.

More about Marianna: A Cretan‑Born Chef Bringing the Aegean to London
Born and raised in Chania, Marianna is the daughter of a Cretan fisherman and a Scottish mother. She spent her childhood in Halepa, close to the sea, where her family ran a small seafood taverna. From a very young age, she helped gut fish, peel potatoes, and prepare fresh catches brought in nightly by her father. Her upbringing was steeped in the rhythms of the sea, harvesting its bounty and learning time‑honoured cooking techniques handed down through local grandmothers. She describes these years as “the best childhood on earth,” characterized by freedom, nature, and a profound connection to food.
At 18, Marianna moved to the UK to study forensic psychology at the University of Kent. After completing her master’s, a soul-searching cycling trip through France and Spain, equipped with a barbecue and diary, reignited her passion for cooking. Returning to Crete, she worked with her brother in the family restaurant before relocating to London. Her first stop was Moro, a Mediterranean-Spanish restaurant she’d admired since student days. Starting as a waitress, she worked her way into the kitchen, eventually becoming head chef and, later, leading the launch of Morito on Hackney Road in 2016.
Beyond restaurants, Marianna is passionate about using food to support social causes, starring in documentaries which highlight the importance of good food, such as The Perfect Meal. She bestows a strong sense of community by conducting feasts for local families, special events and cooking workshops for children. She is an inspirational & loving mother to her son, and we are delighted to have her as a friend of Oeno Maris.
